چکیده

Ternary and quaternary metal chelates of some biologically important bivalent transition metal ions viz. Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) formed with biologically significant ligands, viz. Asparagine (A) and Uracil (B) have been investigated. The relevant stability constants and complexation equilibria of quaternary metal chelates in solution at 30±1 oC and at constant ionic strength (I=0.1M NaNO3) have been studied potentiometrically. Equilibrium concentrations of all species in multimetal-multiligand system, concentration of each metal and complexing agent have been calculated. Species distribution curves are obtained by plotting percent (%) concentration of the species obtained through SCOGS computer technique against pH. The distribution curves are finally sketched by running the computer program ORIGIN 4.0. The metal ligand formation constant of MA, MB, MAB and M1M2AB type of complexes follow Irving William order. The order of stability constants of quaternary systems has been observed and solution structures of metal complexes with said ligands have been discussed.

Equilibrium analysis of reactions of metal-pyridylazoresorcinolato chelates with quaternary ammonium ion, nonionic surfactant and polyethylene glycol in aqueous solution by capillary zone electrophoresis.

The resolutions of metal-4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol chelates by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) were investigated in the presence of some interacting reagents; also, equilibrium reactions between the chelates and the interacting reagents were analyzed in an aqueous solution. Among nine metal chelates formed in aqueous solution, the chelates of VV, FeII, CoIII, NiII, and CuII were resolved ...

Separation of methacrylic acid from aqueous phase using quaternary amine

The feasibility of extractive reaction of methacrylic acid from aqueous solution using a quaternary amine, tri–octyl methyl ammonium chloride (TOMAC) as an extractant, was studied. The diluents chosen in the present work belong to different chemical classes, n–butyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, isoamyl alcohol, methyl isobutyl ketone, and toluene. The effect of initial acid concentration in t...

Competitive Adsorption of Cu, Ni, Pb, and Cd from Aqueous Solution Onto Fly Ash-Based Linde F(K) Zeolite

The reaction of fly ash with a KOH solution was used to synthesize Linde F(K) zeolite, following which Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used to characterize the crystalline material. The competitive adsorption of Cu, Ni, Pb, and Cd onto this zeolite was subsequently studied in quaternary solution systems. The results show that the metal removal rates gradually increase with incr...
